Melinda and Scott – I’ve been listening to you pod cast for a while now and felt compelled to send you a note, especially since I’ve assumed the role of K-8 principal in our district. Through budget cuts in administration I have gone from middle school to K-8, about 850 students. At the moment I don’t have an assistant but I do have a great staff. Anyway, I’ve been using a blog and have encouraged the use of technology with my staff. I’ve been a high school administrator, middle school principal and now elementary principal. This is my 10th year and I’m finding your dialogue interesting and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with me.
Darren, Glad we can help! Sounds like you have your hands full and if you have any topics for us to discuss or find answers for we would be happy to do that. Hang in there! You must be doing a great job to have such an awesome responsibility put upon you! Thanks for listening.
Great website! Please visit Teaching for Today and the Educational Insights podcast at stevedecker.org or teachingfortoday.com
Hey Steve! I checked out your website and WOW! It will take me a while to get through all your podcasts but I will sure pass this info on to my teachers. Podcasts are such a great way to get info in such a busy world. I do a lot of learning while I am driving. Thanks for reading!
Thank you for your podcast! I found it a few weeks ago, and am excited to see when a new one shows up on my Palm Pro (I can’t break down to buy Apple products). I am a Principal of a Charter School in Florida. I’m in my fourth year. The school has nearly doubled in students since I started in 2005. I’ve decided to try to focus on professional development for myself and my staff this year, and use podcasts such as yours as a way to broaden my own perspectives. I appreciate your tech tips and organziation tips, and look forward to learning more from your experiences. Thank you for your podcast!
Hello Scott and Melinda! I really enjoy your podcasts, thank you for all of the time you put in. I am currently a K-5/9-12 music teacher and have a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. Looking at taking that leap in the near future. I enjoy the information and expert tips your podcasts provide.
Melinda, Scott,
I hope you are both well.
I listened to a number of your shows later this past year. I find them very entertaining and down to earth. I appreciate this approach.
I am currently doing an internship as a part of an Education Specialist degree in Building Level Leadership. May I ask a question? According to the two of you, what are the three most important factors for me to pay attention to/learn about over the course of this internship? I work with an amazing Principal and Vice-Principal from a district with a great Director of Schools and a great Board. I am very happy to be here and want to get everything I can out of this internship before the moment is gone.
Thank you kindly.
Yours,
Brad
hi Scott and Melinda! an acquaintance from twitter suggested listening to both of you. The funniest statement that made me laughed out aloud was when Scott said “We are not sure what we are doing” (first podcast) but still it was a heart warming statement from 2 very caring principals who just love to share.Thank you so much.both of you made me proud to be a principal.by the way,i’m from Malaysia.i’m following you in Twitter.
